June

25 - 26 CHUN Capitol Hill People's Fair - For over 40 years, the first weekend of each June, more than 250,000 people gather at Civic Center Park, in the heart of Downtown Denver to celebrate community and the arrival of summer at the CHUN Capitol Hill People's Fair. Voted Denver's Best Annual Festival in 2005 and 2006, the People's Fair is the quintessential "urban festival," bringing together people of every culture and background, from city neighborhoods, suburbs and outlying communities, to enjoy the diverse sights, sounds and tastes of Denver.

Produced by Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, (CHUN), the city's largest neighborhood association, the Capitol Hill People's Fair is also the region's premier arts and crafts festival featuring more than 300 artisans, crafters and other specialty merchandisers as well as the city's leading local music showcase. Festival attendees gather at six different stages to be entertained by some of the region's top emerging musical acts selected through Denver's most recognized talent search, the Ultimate Music Xperience (UMX) or munch on the offerings from dozens of food vendors. Plus there are many other activities for children & young families including the Kids and Family Area featuring age-appropriate programming, entertainment and activities. Other festival highlights include an extensive (and growing) non-profit exhibition area, a wine pavilion located adjacent to our jazz stage, and an interactive youth mural project. The People's Fair truly offers something for everyone!

The CHUN Capitol Hill People's Fair is a favorite Denver tradition, emphasizing urban diversity and neighborhood pride. It is truly a Fair for the people, made possible in large part by the hard work and collaborative efforts of more than 300 volunteers. CHUN utilizes the revenue from the People's Fair to support its neighborhood vitality and engagement work around issues such as public safety, homelessness and affordable housing, land use and zoning and historic preservation just to name a few. We also own and operate the CHUN Community Center located at 1290 Williams Street, a center for neighborhood engagement, celebration and networking.
