category : Trails
The Landon Nature Trail is a multi-mile rail trail which is open to the public for non-motorized uses. It begins in front of the Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site at 15th & Monroe Streets in Topeka. It travels southeast through Topeka and out across Shawnee County. It follows beautiful Linn Creek and the wildlife is abundant. During the warm months the trail is under a tree canopy most of the way and is shaded. Near milepost 12 the Landon begins crossing Clinton Lake which is a Corps of Engineers lake. It travels across the Clinton Lake Wildlife Area managed by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.

The Landon is being developed and maintained by the Kanza Rail Trails Conservancy. This is a 501(c)3 non-profit which is all volunteer and supported by private donations.
