17 First Federal Land Office - Get a glimpse of the life of the first settlers in Ohio at the First Federal Land Office of the United States. This structure, built in 1801, also served as the home of the area's first land agent David Hoge. On the grounds is the massive 2½ ton bell from the Jefferson County Courthouse. Located next to Old Fort Steuben at 3rd & Adams Streets. Open by appointment.

26 - 30 Traditions of Steubenville 2007 - Traditions of Steubenville, held during one extended weekend in June, is a medley of festivals that celebrate the community's rich cultural heritage including the Greek Food Festival, Old Fort Steuben Festival, and of course the Dean Martin Festival.

27 - 7 Steubenville City Market - Savor summer with fresh produce at the Steubenville Farmer's Market held along Market Street each Thursday. The Farmer's Market features vegetables, fruits, baked goods, and crafts. Every week something new comes into season! 28 - 30 Fort Steuben Festival - The 17th Annual  Fort Steuben Festival celebrates life in 18th century America and features reenacting encampments and demonstrations by the First American Regiment, Native Americans, Surveyors and Settlers; entertainment in the newly constructed amphitheater; handmade crafts, historical presentations and demonstrations of 18th century life, marching with Baron von Steuben, pony rides, music, and period activities are available; food, animals, and fun for the whole family; wheelchair accessible.

5 - 6 Ohio Valley Frontier Days - Experience life on the Ohio frontier on the grounds of Historic Fort Steuben. The reconstructed 18th century fort will offer hands-on history at this celebration of our American heritage. Soldier, settler, surveyor, and Native American re-enactors bring the period to life with demonstrations and activities for all ages. Visitors can toss a tomahawk, dip candles, work the forge, and march with Baron von Steuben himself. Crafts, music, food, and games make it a weekend for the whole family.

4 - 7 Tribute to the American Soldier -

A salute to the  American soldier from the French & Indian War to the present day, this exhibit will bring American Military History alive. The four-day event includes a traveling museum featuring weapons and uniforms and conversations with veterans, as well as books, literature, and music.

4 Historic Fort Steuben - Historic Fort Steuben is a reconstructed 18th century fort built on the original site overlooking the Ohio River that opened the Northwest Territory to expansion and settlement. The 150 soldiers garrisoned in the fort protected the surveyors from hostile tribes as they laid out the first Seven Ranges of the Northwest Territory. Exhibits depict military life in 1787.

An active archaeological dig is part of the tour. The Fort is open for general admission, tours, and school field trips from May through October. Special programs for students are offered in the summer and the fall. The Ohio Valley Frontier Days in June include period reenactments, crafts, archaeological and surveying exhibits, food, demonstrations, music, lectures, and more. Wheelchair accessible.

Visitors can explore the Museum Shop and obtain travel information in the Visitors Center. The adjacent Fort Steuben Park includes the Veterans Memorial Fountain and the newly built Berkman Amphitheater offering concerts and programs in season. The Steubenville City Market is held on Thursdays from June through October and the Thursday Concerts in the Park run through June and July. Tours of the nearby First Federal Land Office (originally built in 1801) can also be arranged.

27 Andes Manta - The renowned South American folk ensemble Andes Manta will bring its dynamic presentation to the Exhibit Hall at Historic Fort Steuben. Playing more than 35 traditional instruments, Andes Manta brings to life the ancient culture of the Incas and their predecessors, a people focused on the natural world. These Ecuadorian musicians perform a variety of traditional rhythms, from the haunting melodies of the high Andes to the joyous dance rhythms of Indian village festivals. They weave the magic of their sound into a trip to the Amazon rain forest complete with chirping frogs and calling birds.

This free concert is funded and presented as part of the Ohio Arts Council's International Music & Performing Arts in Communities Tour in partnership with the Ohio Arts Presenters Network.

2 Steubenville Light Up Night - Steubenville sparks the holiday season with its annual Light Up Night. Located at Fort Steuben Park near the county courthouse, the event features the lighting of the Christmas trees and holiday decorations. Entertainment by local dance and music groups, the crowning of the Christmas Queen, free hot chocolate and popcorn, and a festive atmosphere mark this community event.

14 Jefferson Co. Historical Museum - Tour the collection of local historic treasures displayed in a nineteen-room, English Tudor style mansion at the Jefferson County Historical Museum.
