The Grand Island YMCA, partnering with the Nebraska State Fair to Strengthen Community. Join us for the Nebraska State Fair Marathon, Half-Marathon, Relay Marathon, 5K and 1-Mile Kid’s Run. Experience the fastest, flattest course in the country. The course begins at the Nebraska State Fair and takes you along tree-lined streets, along the Hike & Bike Trail, around Stuhr Museum and ends on the State Fair Grounds.

The cannon located on the South lawn of the Courthouse is dated 1853 and with the forged stamp of AMES CO. FOUNDERS, CHICOPEE, MASS.
"This cannon was left at Fort O.K. August 22, 1865 by Major J.R. Curtis 'for the protection of the settlement against attack by Hostile Indians'."
