O'Neil Woods Metro Park

category : Parks
Much of the 295-acre O?Neil Woods Metro Park was farmland prior to 1972. Cattle and horses grazed near the still-standing barn, which now is an ideal bat "condo." Today, the aptly-named 1.8-mile Deer Run Trail follows a path worn by white-tailed deer. A portion of the statewide Buckeye Trail also runs through the park. Eastern woodcocks, barred owls, pileated woodpeckers, song sparrows and king fishers inhabit the park.
