22 Bonaparte Independence Day Celebration - Bonaparte Independence day celebration is our 4th of July Celebration we always have on a Saturday before the 4th. There will be activities for the entire family throughout the day. 1:00pm until 10:30pm. Saturday events will include water balloons, tug of War, pedal tractor pull, dog show, BINGO at the Opera House, Fish Fry and a parade at 5pm that goes through our downtown district and then fireworks on the riverfront to be held at 10 pm.

4 - 6 Scenic Drive Festival - The Scenic Drive Festival is our largest festival of the year that is held during the peak of our spectacular fall foliage season, the second full weekend of October. This Countywide Festival has numerous events and activities planned in most of the Villages. Featuring arts and crafts vendors, antique vendors, art shows, music, garage sales, kid's entertainment, parade, car and motorcycle show, food and more activities throughout the Villages.

Bonaparte will have their streets lined with antique, craft & art vendors both Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm. Dan Barth's Medicine Man Show will be held at 10am & 1pm at Addie May Fudge Factory. No admission fee. The Olive Branch, with unique gifts & collectibles for all occasions, will be open from 9am-5pm. On Saturday only, enjoy a Soup Luncheon from 11am-1pm at the Opera House on Main St. A maid-rite lunch will be served at the Fire Station from 11am-2pm and a Ribeye or Pork Chop Dinner will be served at 5pm at the Fire Station. On Sunday enjoy a Soup Luncheon at the Opera House from 11am-2pm or a Sandwich Lunch at the Fire Station from 11am-2pm.

4 - 6 Bonaparte Fall Festival - The Bonaparte Fall Festival as a part of the Scenic Drive Festival is our largest event of the year with all the Villages of Van Buren County having their own activities over the weekend. including food, flea market items, crafts, home-based businesses, Addie Mae fudge and inflatables for the kids. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We are bringing together a large selection of vendors with a variety of products in our City Park which is found along our Historic Riverfront of Bonaparte, Iowa between West and Orchard Streets. We will also be having a Fall City Wide Yard Sale.

We will be listing vendors and vendors will post pictures of items that will be on hand that day.
There will be advertising on the radio, tv, classified papers, and news paper for this event. The event will be on a lot of community calendars, local newspapers, and fliers posted within 50 miles radius.
