Come celebrate Earth Day at the annual Earth Day Celebration at the Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANC)! The family friendly, free event is generously supported by Half Price Books. The day starts at 9 am with informative exhibits, activities and entertainment both in the building and out in the parking lot. At 2:00 Kinderberry Hill will present “The Great Kapok Tree,†and at 2:15 we’ll start our popular Walking Parade and Tree Planting. The day ends with birthday cake for all in attendance to celebrate HANC’s 24th birthday.
You can enter our free drawing for a chance at some great stuff like a gift card from Half Price Books, a compost bin or rain barrel donated by the City of Roseville and more! Out in the parking lot, Eureka! Recycling will have their recycling truck and Maplewood Toyota will again be showing off not one, but three different models of the Prius hybrid car.
As usual, we’ll be collecting certain items for recycling. You can bring old eyeglasses for the Lions Club, used printer cartridges (Cartridge World) and CFL light bulbs. In addition, Eureka will be collecting any unwanted old blue recycling bins. Please note we are no longer collecting plastic bottle caps.
The Earth Day Celebration is a Zero Waste Event, with guidance by and thanks to Eureka! Recycling and the City of Roseville.
