Ellinwood will transform into an authentic German holiday village brimming with traditional Christmas activities at the Annual Christkindlmarket. The roots of its German heritage run deep in the community that was settled by Germans in the late 1800s. Ellinwood is proud of their German heritage and traditions and the Ellinwood Chamber is pleased to host the holiday event and bring a German tradition back to life.

The celebration will begin at 1 p.m. with local merchants and a variety of vendors and concessions along Main Street for holiday shopping. The Ellinwood Historical Society will be at the Heritage Senior Center with a German Backerei (bakery) selling a variety of homemade candies and cookies by the pound. Carriage rides will also be available through the afternoon. Have your photo taken with Sankt Nikolaus from 2 p.m - 3 p.m in front of the Chamber office at 110 1/2 N. Main.

At 5:00pm community members and visitors will come together at Wolf Park for caroling, storytelling, music, the Living Nativity and the lighting of the Christmas tree in the historic band shell.
