Prairie Park Nature Center This center hosts a vast system of trails, a bird watching area and prairie observatory. The main building houses nine permanent exhibits plus a classroom, gift shop and meeting room. The park encompasses 71 acres and contains approximately eight acres of virgin, never plowed prairie with nearly 180 species of native plants and a lake.

Walking trails are excellent for bird watching and wildlife viewing.

Five acre Mary's Lake provides opportunities for young and old to enjoy fishing. An outdoor, interpretive trail leading down to the lake opened in the fall of 2001.


Hours: Open 9 AM to 5 PM Tuesday - Saturday, and 1 PM - 4 PM Sunday. Closed Mondays.
