Superior City Park

category : Recreation
Superior City Park The City Park, on Highway 14 in the middle of town, was donated by the planner of East Superior, Austin Collette and William Loudon in 1880. The park contains a Chinese cannon which was brought from China by Lady Vestey. The park also has a memorial statue in tribute to our veterans.

City Park is home to the Superior Municipal Swimming Pool. Measuring 83.5 feet square, the pool is one of the largest municipal pools in the state. It has high and low diving boards, a water slide, an adjacent baby pool for small children, and a new handicap-accessible bathhouse.

Picnic space is available either in shelter areas or under the spreading trees. Playground equipment and handicap-accessible restrooms make it a good place to take the family.

The Nuckolls County Historical Museum is located adjacent to the park and the complex includes the main museum building, the old log cabin post office, and a one-room schoolhouse. Plan to visit the museum, stroll through the park or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy a full day of activities.
