The annual Day's of 56 Rodeo is held the last full weekend in June. The two day event draws cowboys & cowgirls from many surrounding states and includes a Queen contest, Arena Race & wholesome family entertainment.

Built about 25 years after Dixon County was established, the Dixon County Courthouse was built in 1883-84 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
