The University of Oklahoma's Western History Collections is one of the largest and most complete assemblages of materials on the American West. 65,000 books and thousands of additional items such as manuscripts, periodicals, microfilm, photographs,maps, oral histories and artifacts are available for research. The collections contain an abundance of materials documenting the socio-economic development of the western frontier.

The Moore-Lindsay House Historical Museum

This gracious Queen Anne style house, built in 1900, was purchased by the city of Norman in 1971. Focusing on the history of Cleveland County from the Land Run of 1889 to Statehood in 1907, the house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
