Whether you go after the "big bucks" with trophy racks or just like to "run the dogs on a good quail hunt" hunting is a big sport for the Freedom area. Deer, Quail, Turkey, Dove and Pheasant hunting is available in the Freedom area canyons and wheat fields. Contact the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Woodward office at 580-254-9173 for information about the various season openings.

Cimarron Cowboy Monument

This huge slab of Oklahoma granite known as the Cowboy's Memorial is the site of the annual Cimarron Cowboys Association meeting following the chuck wagon feed. It took seven years for the monument to move from thoughts to granite, but in April of 1950, the memorial was dedicated.
